Packers and movers · Jodhpur, Rajasthan
Maxx Relocation works as packers and movers in Jodhpur for homes in the blue-city lanes, the planned colonies and the defence areas, on local house shifts and moves to other cities. We pack for desert heat, choose the vehicle to suit your street, and give you the price in writing before we start.
Moving in Jodhpur

Jodhpur asks two very different things of a mover. Below the fort, in Brahmpuri and around Navchokiya, the blue-washed houses of the old town stand on lanes that were built for people and cattle, not trucks. Out in Shastri Nagar, Chopasni Housing Board and along Pal Road, the plots are wide and a truck can back right up to the gate. The packing is the same in both places. The plan for getting goods to the truck is not.
Many Jodhpur moves also start with a posting order. Army and air force families move in and out of the station on fixed dates, and most have packed a household several times before. They know what they want, so we listen first and keep the inventory tight.
The third factor is heat. From April to June, a closed truck standing in the sun gets very hot inside, so we load early and keep heat-sensitive things out of the load.
Areas we cover
We shift homes across Jodhpur, inside the old walls and out. If your colony is not listed, ask us; it is planned the same way.
Finding your way
Tell us which of these is closest to your home. It helps us decide where the truck waits and which road it leaves by.
The market square at the heart of the old city. The lanes around it stay crowded from morning until late evening, so a move from a house nearby starts early, with goods carried out to a smaller vehicle.
The fort's hill rises right behind the blue houses. Streets here climb, turn sharply and sometimes break into steps, so we look at the route from the door before deciding how many carriers to send.
The main railway station, just outside the old city walls. Roads around it carry heavy traffic through the day, which matters if you live in one of the lanes close by.
The civil airport shares its airside with the Jodhpur Air Force Station, and Ratanada's bungalows and defence housing sit close by. Entry for a goods vehicle into defence areas is usually arranged in advance, so we build that time into the plan.
Home to many of the city's handicraft and furniture workshops. Along with household moves, we can shift a workshop office, showroom fittings or finished stock by truck.
Homes we move
Old-city houses are built from the local sandstone, with thick walls, steep stone stairs and small doorways. A double bed or a tall almirah often will not come down in one piece. Our crew opens it up, bags and labels the screws and fittings, and puts it back together at the new home.
Sardarpura, Shastri Nagar and Ratanada have older bungalows with verandas, courtyards and a lot of heavy furniture: sheesham dining sets, carved chests, brass lamps and planters. These homes are easy to reach but slow to pack well, so we give them more packing time rather than rush the wrapping.
Defence and government quarters come with a handover date. Most families want the house empty a day before they return the keys, so we fix the packing day backwards from that date. The newer apartments on Pal Road and Chopasni Road work like any housing society: book the lift and ask the office about moving hours.
On the ground
Where a truck cannot enter, a smaller vehicle or hand-carrying takes goods to the nearest wide road. A photo of your lane with the quote request saves a lot of guesswork.
Entry for a goods vehicle usually has to be cleared through the unit or station. Start on it as soon as your date is fixed; the process differs from one area to another.
Carved pieces and inlay work get soft wrapping, corner guards and, where needed, a wooden crate. Mention them when you ask for a quote so the right material comes with the crew.
Summer dust storms can blow in quickly. Loaded goods stay sheeted, and the truck doors stay shut between trips from the house.
When to move
October to February is the best window. Days are dry and bright, nights turn cool in December and January, and crews can work through the day without the heat slowing them down.
April to June is the hardest stretch: daytime highs routinely exceed 40 °C, and hot winds and dust storms are common in May and June. We start loading around sunrise and try to close the truck before noon. Pack medicines, cosmetics, candles, vinyl records and photo albums in a bag that travels with you.
The monsoon months, June to September, bring far less rain here than to most of India, but one heavy shower can flood low roads and underpasses for a few hours. Also keep posting season in mind: when many defence families move in the same weeks, dates fill up, so book as soon as your order allows.

Usually not right to the door. We park the main truck on the nearest wide road and bring goods out by hand or in a smaller vehicle. A photo of your lane and the house entrance helps us plan the crew size.
We start loading early, wrap electronics and polished wood in padding before they go into the truck, and keep the doors shut once it is loaded. Heat-sensitive items such as medicines, candles, cosmetics and old records should travel with you, not in the truck.
Yes. Share the dates on your posting order and your quarter's handover date, and we plan the packing around them. Ask your unit what is needed for a goods vehicle to enter; we will fit in with its timings. Your car can travel separately on a covered carrier through our car transport service.
